The three tools do the same job: get a room taking part instead of sitting through a presentation. What separates them most is not the feature list — those look alike — but the way they count. Klaxoon counts the people allowed to write. Beekast counts hosts and the size of each session. EduTools counts accounts and content. Here are the figures side by side, checked on 17 October 2026 on their public pricing pages.
An audience tool is rarely billed on actual use. It is billed on a proxy — something easy to count that is meant to approximate the value you get. The choice of that proxy decides everything else.
None of the three models is dishonest. But the same usage does not cost the same depending on the shape of your group, and that is exactly what a pricing page does not tell you.
The Free plan gives access to the visual collaboration tools, with no card required, individual access and free templates. It is limited to 5 participants with editing rights.
The Starter plan costs €24.90 per host per month, billed annually, up to 4 Pros. It unlocks unlimited activity creation and sharing, a library of over 200 templates, integrations with Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Wrike and Jira, a developer portal and APIs, chat and email support. The cap rises to 20 participants with editing rights.
The Enterprise plan starts at 5 Pros and is quoted on request. That is the one that lifts the cap — unlimited participants — and brings governance: SAML 2.0 SSO, SCIM APIs and audit log, usage dashboards, hosting options (self-hosting, Airgap) and an adoption programme run by a dedicated CSM.
The takeaway. As long as your participants only watch, the cap does not bother you. As soon as they have to write — which is usually the point — they count. A 25-person workshop where everyone contributes leaves Starter and goes to quotation.
The Free plan allows 30 participants a month, 3 sessions a month and 5 activities per session, with 9 interactive activity types and PDF reports. Asynchronous sessions are not included.
The Plus plan, at €21 per licence per month (2 licences maximum), removes the monthly participant limit, raises the ceiling to 50 participants per session, and adds unlimited sessions and activities, 17 activity types, asynchronous sessions and PDF and Word reports.
The Pro plan, at €49 per licence for the first two and €44 from the third, raises the ceiling to 100 participants per session and adds detailed analytics, XLS reports, main and breakout sessions, an attendance sheet, team mode and all integrations. Above that, the Enterprise plan customises the limits and adds SSO, an SLA and dedicated support. Displayed prices are billed annually, excluding tax.
The takeaway. Two questions decide your plan: how many people are in the room at once, and how many hosts you have. A centre with six trainers leaves Plus because of the second question, not the first — Plus stops at two licences.
| As of 17 October 2026 | Klaxoon | Beekast | EduTools |
|---|---|---|---|
| What is counted | participants with editing rights | hosts, and the size of each session | accounts and the content you create |
| Free plan | 5 participants with editing rights | 30 participants a month, 3 sessions a month, 5 activities per session | 1 room, 15 enrolled learners, 3 quizzes |
| First paid plan | Starter — €24.90 per host per month, billed annually | Plus — €21 per licence per month, 2 licences maximum | Standard — €4.99 a month (€55 a year); Premium — €9.99 a month (€95 a year) |
| Participants on that plan | 20 with editing rights | 50 per session | no cap per session; the quota counts enrolled learners |
| Hosts | up to 4 Pros | 2 licences (Plus), then €49 and €44 per licence (Pro) | 1 account for individuals; 5 to 50 accounts on training-centre and school plans |
| To lift the cap | Enterprise plan, from 5 Pros, on quotation | Pro plan (100 per session), then custom Enterprise | nothing to lift: a link or QR code enrols nobody |
| Enterprise governance | SAML 2.0 SSO, SCIM, audit log, self-hosting, Airgap, dedicated CSM | SSO, custom SLA, dedicated support | none of these |
Checked on 17 October 2026 on klaxoon.com and beekast.com (French pricing pages). Prices exclude tax. These grids change: check them before you decide.
Grids are abstract. Here is the same arithmetic applied to three real cases — public prices, excluding tax, billed annually.
1. Freelance trainer, groups of 12, two sessions a week. Twelve participants fit everywhere. Klaxoon Starter: €24.90 a month, €298.80 a year. Beekast Plus: €21 a month, €252 a year. EduTools Standard: €4.99 a month, €55 a year — and €95 a year on Premium if you want every ceiling lifted. All three do the job; the gap is what you pay for a ceiling you never reach.
2. Training centre, six trainers, groups of 25. The number of hosts decides. Klaxoon Starter stops at 4 Pros: with six you move to Enterprise, so to a quotation. Beekast Plus stops at 2 licences: you need Pro, two licences at €49 and four at €44, €274 a month — €3,288 a year. On the EduTools side, the Pro plan for training centres opens 20 trainer accounts for €499.99 a year.
3. The company seminar: 60 people, once. Sixty contributing participants means Enterprise at Klaxoon (on quotation) and Pro at Beekast (100 per session). With EduTools the question works differently: you share a link or a QR code, the sixty answer, and none of them is enrolled — so none uses up a seat. What the subscription counts is the learners you enrol in a private room. For companies, plans run from 5 to 50 accounts, €19.99 to €99.99 a month — seats, not per-host licences.
A comparison that only flatters its author helps nobody decide. Three clear gaps.
Enterprise governance. Klaxoon offers SAML 2.0 SSO, SCIM APIs, an audit log, self-hosting and an Airgap configuration, with a dedicated CSM. Beekast offers SSO, a custom SLA and dedicated support. EduTools has none of these. If your IT department requires enterprise SSO or hosting on your own servers, the question is settled before you start.
Integrations. Klaxoon connects to Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Wrike and Jira; Beekast advertises its own integrations and XLS reports. EduTools exports to PDF, CSV and JSON, and stops there.
Video conferencing. None of the three replaces it, and EduTools says so plainly: it turns on neither your camera nor your microphone. You keep your video tool; EduTools brings screen sharing and the activities the group does while you talk.
Three measurements are enough, and they are taken before you sign anything.
Then run a test with a real group and a real session. All three have a free plan: that is what it is for.
No. They are mature products, and their higher plans deliver things EduTools does not — enterprise SSO, self-hosting, dedicated support. The useful question is not the headline price but what it counts: if you are paying for a participant ceiling you never reach, you are paying for nothing; if you need the governance, the price is justified.
EduTools quotas count enrolled learners in your rooms: 15 on the free plan, 999 on Premium. Someone who joins a public room with a code, or opens a quiz through a link or QR code, is enrolled nowhere: they use up no seat, and their result is kept like any other.
Yes, and without asking us. A backup creates a ZIP archive containing your rooms, quizzes, questions, learners and results in JSON, which can then be restored. A second button downloads all of your data as one readable file: that is the right to portability under the GDPR, exercised in one click.
No, and it is not planned. EduTools turns on neither camera nor microphone. For a remote session, keep Teams, Zoom or Meet for voice and picture, and use EduTools for what video calls do badly: getting everyone writing at once, asking the room a question, seeing who has understood.
Three subscriptions, three interfaces, three exports — for one single need: engaging your learners. A detailed comparison and a migration plan to a single platform.
